The Next Steps

After finishing the floors, along came the walls.

I decided to wallpaper the walls before I assembled the parts, the instructions said you would do this, we will see how I feel about it when it is put together.

More walls!! The last picture is the bay window, something I would like in my dream home! I sanded everything down and made a big mess punching out the slots, but it is really coming together. Next Step: Assembly!

Gathering my Supplies

After finishing up preparation for the upcoming school year, I finally went and bought the supplies to get started on my house!!

I bought:

Elmer's CraftBond multi-purpose spray adhesive
Elmer's Wood filler in Natural
a set of Soft Foam paint brushes
masking tape
3M general purpose sand paper multipack
a hot melt glue gun and glue sticks

This I had at home:
a exacto knife
pencils
scissors
a Cricut multi tool kit - It's actually CGull brand, and it has been very helpful

So far the directions have been easy to follow, I am really enjoyed the process of seeing this house come to life.

The first steps were preparing the first and second floors, and attaching the wood "flooring". I did this with the spray adhesive. I am not sure of the staying power of the adhesive, but it was less scary that the actual wall paper and flooring paste.

More to come soon!!
